This autonomous and modular electric vehicle presents itself as the great solution of the future for the transport of goods in the cities. Renault has just introduced it in Hannover and these are its characteristics. Within its EZ program of electric vehicles for the future, Renault presented the EZ-PRO Concept, an electric, connected, autonomous and shared prototype, designed to speed the transport of goods in the city, especially the so-called ‘deliveries’ fast ‘and’ last mile ‘, as the brand names them. It is estimated that over the next few years cities will continue to grow at a considerable pace, as will e-commerce, which is a very important mobility challenge for professionals moving in this area. The Renault EZ-PRO Concept integrates an autonomous central unit, as well as other intelligent units that are driven without a driver, although people continue to occupy a crucial place in the final deliveries. The workers will supervise deliveries and provide services, without having to waste time in planning itineraries and routes, something that the Renault vehicle manages in an automated way. The different EZ-PRO Concept units can travel by train or independently to speed traffic as much as possible while ensuring more complex deliveries. In the words of Ashwani Gupta, executive VP of the Alliance for VCL. “These custom modules provide a flexible transport solution designed to maximize productivity and reduce costs, as well as generate more fluid traffic.

Reinventing life on board

While mobility continues to evolve with connected and autonomous cars, Renault is sure of the importance of reinventing the time spent on board, developing new enriching experiences, both personally and professionally. In this perspective, the Group has established partnerships with companies in the media sector, whose first example is the joint work with the Challenges Group to develop the Augmented Editorial Experience (AEX). AEX is a realistic and immersive experience combining premium personalized editorial content, a multimedia interface and mobility, making each journey a unique learning experience as it’s imagined aboard EZ-ULTIMO.

Group vision: a trilogy for the future of shared mobility

EZ-ULTIMO is the third member of the concept car family created by Renault in the area of autonomous, electric, connected and shared urban mobility services. EZ-ULTIMO uses the same EZ-GO modulating platform, the Renault-on-demand vehicle robot, and the EZ-PRO, an autonomous urban delivery solution for the last leg of the route. Inspired by the same ambition to offer sustainable mobility for all. This trilogy of electric and standalone concept cars illustrates Renault’s vision for tomorrow’s shared urban mobility.
